Sara Ann Slack
From the Gateshead Union, born September 10, 1894 in Gateshead, Durham, England. She arrived in Canada with Dr. Barnardo in 1903 and taken to the Hazel Brae receiving home in Peterborough, Ontario. Sarah married Robert McFarland on September 12, 1912. They had 11 children, 10 of whom grew to adulthood. Sarah died December 1, 1960 and is buried in the Emily Cemetery, Victoria County, Ontario
